Davao Occidental

Davao Occidental is the newest province in the Davao Region (Region XI), officially created in 2013 and established in 2016 after being separated from Davao del Sur. Located in the southernmost part of Mindanao, it is known for its coastal beauty, diverse indigenous culture, and thriving marine resources. The province is home to the B'laan and Tagakaulo indigenous groups, whose rich traditions contribute to its unique cultural identity. With a coastline along the Davao Gulf and the Celebes Sea, Davao Occidental has a strong fishing industry, along with agriculture producing crops like coconut, banana, and corn.
