THE HOSPITAL

A Fine Place For Healing
Just a few kilometers away from Makati is a hospital that manages to surprise patients and visitors alike who do not expect to see such a facility outside of Metro Manila. The restful atmosphere and the majestic view of Mt. Makiling is an ambiance that cannot be found anywhere else.

St. Frances Cabrini Medical Center opened its doors in 1998, initially to serve the medical needs of its affiliate company Yazaki-Torres Manufacturing Inc. and its more than 8,000 employees and their dependents. Sto. Tomas, Batangas is home to several industrial parks however and soon, the other companies and the surrounding communities joined the growing patient base of the hospital. The quality of service and the modern medical technology and expertise of the hospital made it one of the preferred providers in the province.

The First Medical Tourism Zone in the Philippines
A decade into its operation, St. Cabrini Medical Center expanded its hospital facility. Recognizing the potential of the growing medical tourism market, the hospital applied for and secured the approval to have its expanded facility the country's first proclaimed medical tourism special economic zone (PEZA Cert. of Registration EZ07-30). It also named St. Cabrini Medical Center (SCMC) as the developer and operator of the medical tourism park.

The First Major Cancer Institute in Region IV
Part of the hospital's development strategy is to establish the first major cancer institute in Region IV. Recognizing the growing incidence of cancer in the region and the fact that the patients need to travel all the way to Manila to get the necessary treatments, SCMC planned for and developed a range of service that will offer cancer services to patients.

The First Image-Guided Radiation Theraphy (IGRT) in the Philippines
St. Cabrini Medical Center is the first hospital in the Philippines to use IGRT. The hospital is only the 3rd in Asia to acquire this technology that is already being used in leading cancer centers in the United States and Europe.

The First to Offer Integrative Cancer Care
What sets the Institute apart from other facilities is its Integrative Cancer Care concept. In addition to the host of conventional medical care such as radiation therapy, chemotherapy, and surgery, the Institute also offers complementary therapies such as nutritional medicine, acupuncture, specialized rehabilitation services and spiritual and comfort services - all these under a DOCTOR-GUIDED environment.
