Formerly Asian Petroleum Corporation, APC Group, Inc. (APC) was registered with the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) on October 15, 1993 for the primary purpose of engaging in oil and gas exploration and development in the Philippines. In 1995, in line with its diversification efforts and plans to engage in its secondary purposes, the corporate name of the company was changed from Asian Petroleum Corporation to APC Group, Inc., and in 1997, its primary purpose shifted from oil and gas exploration to that of a holding company. APC has investments in energy related projects, mining and manpower outsourcing businesses, telecommunications (now a minority shareholder) and a cement project which has been discontinued. It was actively involved in petroleum trading operations until June 2006 when it was completely phased out. The company has a fully-owned subsidiary in Environment and General Services, Inc. (EGSI), a company engaged in cleaning and manpower outsourcing services. APC's other subsidiaries, among others, include Aragorn Power and Energy Corporation, Aragorn Coal Resources, Inc., and APC Mining Corporation. APC also has a minority participation in Philippine Global Communications, Inc., a telephone company. Source: SEC Form 17-A (2008)
