Chelony\'s Art Workshop and Tutorial Services is an assembly of dynamic and professional artists which aim to develop and tap talents among kids, teens and adults . Chelony\'s Art Workshop and Tutorial Services (CAWATS) was first established in Lipa City Batangas from its original name \"Pugad Kalinga\" in 2000, and it was renamed into The Artists\' Corner Workshop and Tutorial Center. It was founded by Ms. Maricel Chelony Mercado , a local of Lipa City, Batangas Philippines. She took her College in Lipa City Public College, taken Bachelor of Elementary Education. She\'s a very talented and hardworking person , she was a lady DJ for two local radio stations, become a marketing staff and she found it boring and a very light work so tried to get another part time job as a tutor in an art center. Due to some differences between her and her employer, she decided to move out and teach for herself in public schools and there she had met good clients that turned her into private schools and in private institutions and make he own name. After couple of years , she have been proven that she was an effective teacher , they have joined a National Competition in Quezon City which brought them a pride of Lipa City during the term of Mayor Vilma Santos-Recto. They brought trophys and medals that made them brought a tittle of \" Third Best City\" and she got a tittle of \" 2nd Place - over all Best Artist\" that brought her into TV and Movie Production as well as in the Event Management Company(please see www.otsaa.cjb.net(Anthony Flores the crowned 2003 SAE together with Jellie Rose Anne Averilla with her second prestigious Laurel crown Artist of the year 2004 SAE.
\"Jellie Rose Anne Averilla is the 5th Summer Art Experience 2004 Artist of the Year, She earned four Gold Medals, Three Silvers to capture back her reign for the second time. Her first crowned title was the third Summer Art Experience 2002 held in Magsaysay Park, Davao City. She placed Bronze runner during the Fourth summer Art Experience 2003 in Baguio City where Anthony Flores of Caloocan City crowned the title. This year runner ups are Manny Zacarias, captured almost all seven category of the photography to put him in Bronze Artist of the year, and first timer twenty-five years old art advocator, Maricel Chelony Mercado from Lipa City take home the Silver title. Ismael Halik from Davao City, the first and second crowned young artist during the First SAE held in Folk Arts Theater at Cultural Center Complex, Manila and Second SAE held at the Manila Film Center, CCP Complex Pasay City. Most of her students excel in arts and on top of the list , two of them are Kathleen Beredo, Fine Arts Student of UP Diliman ( now also teaching arts in Talinong Bulilit) and Catherine Hipolito , Fine Arts Student of Far Easter University in Manila. Now, she have changed the name into Chelony\'s Art Workshop ant Tutorial Services and continuing the same method of teaching in CALABARZON area to develop more talented young artists for locals or international students . For her , the continuity of sharing arts to each person brought her achievement that we cant compare to any value of money or wealth , for Chelony, \" the love of art is a gift to share, and u cannot avoid being an artist if its in your blood be proud to say \"I\'m an Artist\".
