In June 1997, Continuum Technology Corporation was formally spun-off as a new company to operate as an independent entity with its own office in Makati. It started on October 1995 when Millennium Computer Technology Corporation, a major IT distributor and shareholder for Continuum Technology Corporation, organized an independent division to handle the distribution of IBM Retail Store Solutions Products. Due to the unprecedented success for the distribution of IBM SureOne entry-level Store Solution the division was formally recognized by IBM Philippines as its best new business partner for 1996 awarded as "Rookie Business Partner of the year"Additionally, the Millennium POS Division was also recognized by the IBM regional organization based in Singapore by bestowing it with the "Most Outstanding New Business Partner in ASEAN" awarded in Istanbul, Turkey in April 1997. From Sta Cruz Manila the bigger and more spacious corporate office was transferred to E. Rodriguez Quezon City.
