East Asia Power Resources Corporation (PWR), formerly Northwest Holdings and Resources Corporation, is a public holding company incorporated in 1975. PWR owns and has operated, through its subsidiaries, power-generating facilities in Metro Manila that have a total installed generating capacity of 242 megawatts (MW). PWR's wholly-owned subsidiary, East Asia Diesel Power Corporation (EADPC), owns two power barges in Navotas, Metro Manila while Duracom Mobile Power Corporation (DMPC), a 40%-owned subsidiary of EADPC, owns and operates two power barges also located in Navotas. As of December 31, 2008, EADPC's and DMPC's power plant barges remained shut down due to the inability to recover all of their operating costs. PWR also owns, directly and indirectly, several inactive companies, namely, Sunrise Power Company, Inc., East Asia Global Management Limited, East Asia Power Services, Inc., East Asia Transmission and Distribution Corporation and First Engineering Utilities Service Corporation.
